Emma Hubler Birky, 97, of Cascadia passed away Sunday at her home. She was born in Morris, Pennsylvania to Thomas “Howard” and Ellen (Hoover) Bumbarger.

Emma married Roland Hubler January 21, 1931 in Pennsylvania. They moved to Oregon in 1940. In 1945, they bought the home in which Emma resided for 67 years. Mr. Hubler died in 1979.

On December 26, 1991 Emma married Glenn Birky in Sweet Home. He died in 2002.

Emma cleaned houses for several families over the years. She enjoyed being a homemaker, quilting, crocheting, and tending to indoor plants.

Survivors include: a daughter, Betty Stokes of Cascadia; son, Robert (and Isabelle) Hubler of Cascadia; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, four brothers, and seven sisters.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Cascadia Bible Church, Cascadia. Private family services will be held before the committal service at Gilliland Cemetery, Sweet Home.
