Eleanor Moore, age 95, of Sweet Home, died on July 8 at Twin Oaks in Sweet Home.

Moore was born on her family’s farm in Berthold, North Dakota. She was the fourth of 12 children born to Harry and Jane (Owens) Arnold. After graduating from high school, she moved to Minot, N.D., for work.

She married James Willard Moore on Oct. 24, 1934. They moved to Oregon in 1940. Mr. Moore died in 1976. She married Jack Turner in 1982. He died in 1987.

She was a member of the Sweet Home Church of Christ since 1949. She worked at Groves Rexall Drugs and was a long-time member of the Art Society and Home Extension.

She is survived by daughters Janet Holcomb and husband Roy of Foster, Pat Brooks and husband Wes of Albany; brothers Sheridan Arnold of Sweet Home, and Charles, William, and Ken Arnold, all of California; grandchildren Bob, Robin, Mindy, Terry, Wendy, Mike, Rich and Kim; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her daughter Shirley Newton; sisters Oni Cook and Betty Davidson; and brothers Willard, Harry, Alfred, Aden and Dewey Arnold, died before her.

The family requests memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Hospice or the charity of choice, in care of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, 1443 Long Street, Sweet Home, OR 97386.
