Edward Silvester Gaskey, age 86, of Lebanon passed away Saturday at Lebanon Community Hospital. He was born in Aliksha, Oklahoma to Ed and Alice (Ferguson) Gaskey and raised in Wright City, Oklahoma.

During his youth, he traveled to various states working in construction and mill work before settling in the Sweet Home-Lebanon area in the mid 1960s. He retired from Willamette Industries in 1985.

Edward enjoyed camping, raising cattle, and time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his brother, Arvel Gaskey of Wright City, Oklahoma and a brother-in-law, Jack Phillips of Lebanon, Oregon. He will be missed by his children, Nadine Egan of Lebanon, Roy Gaskey of Sweet Home, Robert Gaskey of Sweet Home, Cheryl Gaskey of Lebanon, Gina Messer of Lebanon, and Charlette Lopez of Forest Grove, Oregon, along with numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Alice Marie; parents; and brothers, Earl, Charlie, Delbert, Ted, and Harvey Gaskey.

Viewing will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church.
