Donald Leroy Blodgett, 79, of Sweet Home, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025. He was born on October 24, 1945 to Francis Layafette and Bertha Ardella (Terry) Blodgett in Remus, Michigan.

He was born and raised in Michigan thru his early adulthood then moved to Sweet Home in the late 1970’s. Donald proudly served his country from 1964 to 1968 in the Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic during the Vietnam War.

Donald was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Elks. He worked for Jeld-Wen for more than a decade. He loved to fly and work on planes.

Donald is survived by his daughters: Christine and her husband Charles Smith, Wendy and her husband Mark Messer all of Lakeland, Florida; sisters: Kathy and her husband Larry Sopscak of Gladstone, Michigan and Alice of Marana, Arizonia; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Francis Layafette Blodgett (1981), mother Bertha Ardella Blodgett (2003); sisters: Janet Marie Blodgett (2003), Helen P. Root (2017); brother Terry Francis Blodgett (2004).
