Dean Curtis Robbins, 79, of Shedd, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
He was born on February 6, 1947 to John and Glennadean Robbins in Portland, Oregon.

He spent most of his childhood in Woodburn, OR. Dean was very active as a child spending most of his time outdoors and getting into mischief on the farm. He loved playing sports, driving his car a little too fast and enjoyed basketball, baseball, and football in high school.

Following graduation, Dean spent two years serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the British South mission. Upon returning home from his mission, he attended BYU where he met the love of his life, Rosalind Davis. Dean and Rosalind married September 6, 1969 in the Oakland California Temple. During their 57 years of marriage, they built a life centered on faith and family. Together they raised six children; Dawn, Deyce, Deena, Kelly, Kaysha and Stephen.

After graduation with a degree in Industrial Arts Education, and finding a job as a crafts (woodshop) teacher at a Jr. High school, Dean quickly learned that teaching high schoolers was not for him. He went on to become an electrician and was very successful in that career.

Dean loved fishing, cars, sports and woodworking. You could often find him at his children’s sports events, or in his garage working on his latest project. He loved to rig up inventive contraptions and could do anything with a roll of duct tape. He was meticulous in his woodworking and built his own fishing boat. He then went on to build the home that the family lived in for many, many years.

He was a quiet man who would often find sitting and listening to the conversations around him. But he could go from silently listening to talking you ear off if the right subject came up.

Dean was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1997 and spent many years fighting that battle. He endured more than anyone should have to endure.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many different capacities over the years. He had a strong testimony of his Savior.

Dean is survived by his wife, Rosalind Robbins; their children, Dawn Jones (Jon), Deyce Peterson (Garrick), Deena Ditto (Brent), Kelly, Kaysha Burgess (Dustin) and Stephen Robbins (Oksana), 17 grandchildren and his sister Susan Schlack.
