Dakon Edward Bradley of Eddyville, Oregon passed away Saturday, August 20. He was 46 years old.

Dakon was born on July 14, 1970 in Apple Valley, California to Ronnie Lee Bradley and Paula Sue Kokkeler. On August 16, 1973, the family moved to Eddyville, Oregon. Dakon attended school in Eddyville and graduated in 1988. Following graduation, Dakon attended Oregon State University.

Dakon was an incredible athlete who enjoyed football, basketball, and track. He also had an incredible love for bowling and softball and could frequently be seen playing ball on weekdays and weekends for various parks and recreation teams and traveling teams across the state.

He married Julie Jordan on August 3, 1996 in Corvallis, Oregon. She was the love of his life. They lived in Corvallis for a number of years before moving back to where he grew up in Eddyville in 2004. Dakon loved life in the country and was most comfortable in the house he grew up in.

Dakon’s entire working career was spent at Bertsch Allied Moving and Storage; working for the family business. He had an incredible work ethic and, ultimately, this culminated in him becoming vice president of the company.

Dakon was a huge fan of sports. He was a lifelong Oregon State Beaver fan and could be found at home watching football games on Saturdays. He was also one of the greatest San Francisco 49er fans to ever live. One of Dakon’s greatest loves was that of coaching his twin daughters in basketball and softball. He was a natural at coaching and excelled at developing teams that thrived in sportsmanship, playing with heart and winning. He had a knack for being able to find the strength in many young ladies and help them realize how they could best contribute to their teams.

He was incredibly dedicated to his family. He had a huge heart and was a very giving man. By far his greatest gift to anyone who knew him was that of his ability to make them smile and laugh. He had a sense of humor that was second to none. There was never a gathering that Dakon attended where he wasn’t the life of the party. Dakon could make anyone laugh; something he truly loved to do. Wherever he went, people could be found smiling, laughing, and loving life. He touched so many lives in such a good way and will truly be missed.

Dakon is survived by his wife, Julie Bradley, of Eddyville; daughters Sydney and Sara Bradley of Eddyville; father Ronnie Bradley (wife Debbie Bradley) of Eddyville; mother Paula Kokkeler (husband Dick Kokkeler) of Panama; sister Tammy Barnhouse (husband Buck Barnhouse) of Eddyville; sister Sumer Bradley of Seattle, Washington; and sister Catlin Bradley of Eddyville, Oregon.
