Charles “Chuck” Livesay, age 73, of Sweet Home passed away Wednesday morning, February 24, at his home. He was born in Blue Sulphur Springs, West Virginia to Frank Albert and Edith Mary (Bryant) Livesay.

In 1964, Chuck moved to Oregon where he met and married Donna Johnson. They moved to Sweet Home in 1966. He worked as a timber faller for John Bumbarger for many years, until he was injured in a logging accident in 1978.

Chuck enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved to read and watch sports on TV, and he was a great storyteller. He didn’t know a stranger.

He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and a member and past president of the Moose Lodge. He participated in various bowling leagues and was a member of the Sweet Home Rodeo Board.

Chuck is survived by: his wife, Donna; children, Sylvia (Patti) Van Sickle of Dallas, Charles Ray Livesay and Timothy Alan Livesay of Columbus, OH, Debra K. Livesay and Gina Marie Radley of Sweet Home, Sheila Gayle Cole of Reynoldsberg, OH, and Sheila Kay Livesay of McMinville, OR; sister, Betty Loudermilk of Hebron, OH; 21 grandchildren and 19+ great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Douglas Livesay (1980); sister, Lucille Temple; and brothers, Ralph Livesay and James Livesay.

Viewing will be 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 1, at Sweet Home Christian Church, 18th and Long Street, Sweet Home, Oregon. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling services.
