Charlene Virginia Scott was born June 13, 1921 in Wichita, Kansas. Charlene was the seventh of eight children, born to Charles Augusta and Malvira (Sidwell) Cummings.

Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lewis Scott, Jr., and her son, Harry Lewis Scott, III. Her mother, father, sisters, and brothers are deceased.

Charlene has four surviving daughters: Jeanette (Larry) Gelatt of Oregon, Carolyn Yaws of Arizona, Melody (Stuart) Archibald of California, and Paulette Dodd of Arizona. She had 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Charlene lived in California for more than 30 years and worked in Alameda County, Imperial, Los Angeles, and Ventura Counties. Sweet Home, Oregon was her true home since 1978. Charlene was a curator for the Linn County Historical Museum in Brownsville for ten years.

Charlene had been active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was past president of Auxiliary Post #3437, Auxiliary District #14, and Cootie Auxiliary Pup Tent #20. She was also a member of the Sweet Home Ambassadors.

Charlene was an Associate Member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Willamette Valley Chapter and past president of the Purple Heart Ladies Auxiliary, Robert C. Dunlap Unit #569.
