Carol Johnston, 72, of Sweet Home passed away Saturday. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia to Paul and Virginia (Twyman) Wallace.

She was raised in Ohio and California and graduated from high school in San Luis Obispo, California. She met Roy Johnston in California and they married January 17, 1959. While Roy was in the United States Navy, they lived in Texas. In 1972, they moved to Brownsville where Roy took the job of the Sweet Home baseball coach.

Carol enjoyed cooking shows and flowers.

She is survived by: daughter, Janet Johnston of Sweet Home; son-in-law, Raymond Lingenfelter of Sweet Home; siblings, Judith McGill of Redmond, Connie Jensen of Notus, ID, Linda Koehne of Sweet Home, Ruth Deal of Albany, Mike Wallace of Blythe, CA, and Sonny Wallace of Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by: her husband, Roy Johnston; and sisters, Jeanette Crunk and Sharon Miller.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
