Carl Raymond Cleem, 88, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday in Madras, Oregon. He was born in St. Vincent, Minnesota to Carl Adolph and Gertrude (Borgeson) Cleem.

He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1953 – 1961. He lived in St. Vincent, Minnesota until 1942 when he moved with his family to Midway City, California, living there until moving and finally settling in Sweet Home in 1994.

Carl worked for Edison for 35 years. He was also a Midway City Volunteer Fireman for ten years. He volunteered on Sundays at the Presbyterian Church in Westminster, California.

He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He held the title of Southern California Horseshoe Champion for many years and was very proud of this accomplishment.

Carl is survived by his children: Christy and her husband Bob Meyer of Naperville, Illinois, Carl and his wife Annie Cleem of Madras, Brenda and her husband Kevin King of Lebanon, Ohio; sister Georgine Cleem-Whalen of Lake Havasu, Arizona; sister-in-law Sally Cleem of Huntington Beach, California; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margie in 2018; brothers: Sonny and Larry; sisters: Darlene Brayton and Beverly Capparelli.
