Allen Otto Rickman, age 88, of Sweet Home passed away at his home early Sunday morning. He was born in Portland, Oregon to Otto John and Germaine Augustine (Rialland) Rickman.

Allen served in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945. While enlisted, he received the EAME Ribbon with six bronze stars and a Good Conduct Medal.

He grew up in Milwaukie, Oregon and relocated to Sweet Home in 1952. He spent his lifetime working as a farmer. He enjoyed working with metal and created yard birds and other projects on his farm.

He never married and is survived by his nieces, Bonnie Rickman of Sweet Home, Carol and husband Roger Conroy of Milwaukie, and Debbie and husband Joe Hodges of Corvallis; nephews, Steve Rickman of Sweet Home and Neil and wife Tamara of Portland; sister-in-law, Patricia Rickman of Sweet Home; eight great nieces and nephews; and nine great, great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Daryl Rickman, of Portland in 2007.
