Allen Dixon Schmotzer, 71, of Philomath passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024. He was born August 9,1952 to Jeannine (Hagel) and Walt Schmotzer in Long Beach, CA.

He lived in Everett, Washington, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Tucson, Arizona. Allen then came to Oregon in 1981 and married the love of his life and best friend, Rhonda Ritter, on December 19, 1981. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 50 years.

He worked at Mary’s River Saw Mill for 13 years. Then Allen worked at Hewlett Packard in the research and development printer division for 26 years. He enjoyed nature photography and studio photography. Allen loved the outdoors, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and enjoyed the birds of nature. Allen was known for his famous talent in sausage making and grilled treats and most of all gained the happiness of sharing that goodness with others.

Allen is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rhonda Schmotzer, brothers: Frank (Robin) Schmotzer of Tucson, Arizona, Tom (Michelle) Schmotzer of Port Charlotte, Florida; brother-in-law: Dennis (Kim) Ritter, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
