Yvette C. Blue, 76, of Sweet Home passed through Heaven’s Gates on Saturday. She was born in Park Grove, Montana to her parents, Bruce and Alice (Whipple) Anderson. Along with her older brother, Bobby, Yvette grew up in Havre, Montana and graduated from Havre High School. Soon after graduation, Yvette married Calvin Winters and moved to Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.

One of Yvette’s most precious gifts was being a loving mother to her four children.

In 1966, she returned to the United States and in 1967 moved to Seattle where she was employed at the University of Washington as telecommunications manager for the University of Washington Hospital and campuses. During her 30 year tenure at the UW, Yvette married Howard W. Blue, February 21, 1981 in Seattle. Upon their retirement, they chose Sweet Home, Oregon to be their home.

Yvette loved her family, gardening, cooking, fishing, and being a selfless servant to her Lord and Savior.

Yvette is survived by: her husband, Howard Blue of Sweet Home; her children, Lori Kirkham of Pennsylvania, Greg Winters of Montana, Mellany Winters of Washington State, and Jenifer Winters of Sweet Home; Howard’s children, Stephanie Crandall of California, Rachell Batesol of Oklahoma; and six grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Anderson.

A memorial service will be held for Yvette at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 12th, at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Contributions can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
