William “Scott” Murray, 54, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013. He was born in St. Helens, Oregon, to Lyle Dean and Nancy B. (Ferebee) Murray.

Scott attended Reedsport High School and graduated in 1975. Scott was a great-hearted musician, composer, and artist. He loved hunting, fishing, carving, playing cards, and gathering wood. Mostly, Scott loved to spend time with his family and friends celebrating life, singing, and playing his guitar. He had great faith in the teachings of Jesus and is now joined with God on his new journey.

Scott is survived by: his parents, Dean and Nancy Murray of Foster; his daughters, Amber D. Murray of Jefferson, Melissa Brady of Mt. View, Hawaii; sons, William D. Murray of Ainaloa, Hawaii and Jack Downer of Sacramento, California; seven grandchildren; sister, Diane Mitchell and her husband, Rodney Mitchell, of Jefferson; brothers, David A. Murray of Orland, California and Stan Williams of Foster; and many more cherished family and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Dean Murray, in 1974.

The family gives a special thank you to the Lebanon Hospital ICU doctors and staff for their compassionate loving care and support.

A time of remembrance will be held at noon, 12:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Murray Home in Foster, 5226 Poplar. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. An oceanside ash scattering will be held the following day.
