W. Geraldine Smith, 86, of Crawfordsville, Oregon passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 and is now dancing with Jesus in her new clothes. She was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma to John Floyd and Hazel Ethelyn (Wilks) Rowley.

Geraldine graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1951. She married Vernon Hegge in June 1951. Vernon passed in 1977.She married Martin “Mike” Smith in January 1985.

Geraldine worked several years in the cannery and worked as a teacher’s aide at Crawfordsville School. She was a member of Crawfordsville Community Church and played music at church for many years.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, making cakes, decorating and ceramics. She loved collecting books, reading and gave books to all her family members.

Geraldine is survived by her children: LeRoy and Karen Hegge of Marcola, Mike Hegge of The Dalles, Beth and Ron Blackwell of Crawfordsville, Sharon and Tom Wall of Crawfordsville, Sandi Hegge of Sweet Home, Casper and Heidi Hegge of Sweet Home, Jim and Sharon Dean of Cascade Locks, and Celinda Gourley of Salem; oodles of grandchildren; and lots of great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands: Vernon Hegge (1977), Martin Smith (2016); son, G. Scott Hegge (2015); step-daughter, Paula Rodgers; brother John Floyd Rowley who died as an infant at 18 days old. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday July 11th at Crawfordsville Community Church. Final burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Crawfordsville. Memorial contributions in Geraldine’s name can be made to Crawfordsville Community Church.
