Victor LeRoy Childers, 81, of Brownsville passed away Sunday. He was born in Crawfordsville to Victor John and Margaret Anna (Robinet) Childers.

He served in the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant. He was discharged in March of 1969.

Victor raised his family in Brownsville. He was retired from the military and the telephone company.

He loved fish tanks and was a rock hound. He enjoyed making his own beer and wine.

Victor is survived by: daughters, Darlene Kirk of Brownsfville, Vicky Martin Maas of Beaver Creek, Helen Childers of Albany; son, David Childers of Albany; brothers, Jim Childer and, Charles Childers of Sweet Home; sisters,: Darleen and Debra of Sweet Home, Dena of Eugene, and Deanna of Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Christine, who passed away January 30, 2013; sisters, Dorothy, Dolores, and Donna.

Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Brownsville Assembly of God. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Assembly of God Church in Brownsville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
