Vickie Hester, 67, of Sweet Home passed away Tuesday. She was born in Seattle, Washington to Valentine Kent and Viola Mae (Sutherland) Thomson.

She lived in Seattle, Washington, San Jose, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Okanogan and Wenatchee, Washington. She came to Sweet Home in August of 1992.

Vickie was a Veterinary Technician until 93-94. She volunteered with SHEM, Safe Haven, Pro Bono and Meals on Wheels since she stopped working.

She enjoyed fishing and camping and loved being with her family.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Joel Hester, of Sweet Home; children Torey of Salem, Tiffani of Molalla, and Jacob of Salem; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jesse Hester, who passed in January of 2017.
