Verdin “Boots” Lewis Davis
February 17, 1946 – May 30, 2023

Verdin “Boots” Davis, 77, of Sweet Home, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023. He was born February 17, 1946 to Roma (Barns) and Raymond H. Davis Sr. in Mt. Shasta, California.

He was in the Army from 1966-1968, and served in Vietnam for a year. He grew up in Grants Pass where he met the love of his life Peggy Shamel. They later married after he returned from Vietnam. They moved to Sweet Home in the early 1970’s.

Verdin worked as a contractor and carpenter he owned Boots Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by son Tad Davis and his wife Kayla of Sweet Home, daughter Tina Davis of Redmond, brothers Alvin “Buddy” Davis and Jerry Davis. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Margaret “Peggy” 2017, son Tony Davis 2019, brothers Larry Davis 2022, and Raymond Davis Jr. 2023.

Graveside service with military honors will be 1 pm Tuesday June 6th at Gilliland Cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com.
