Thomas “Tom” F. Erbes, 86, of Sweet Home, Oregon, was beckoned home by the Lord on Thursday evening, January 14, 2021. He was born in Los Angeles, California to Doris M. (Fowler) and Russell F. Erbes.

He lived a life filled with mischief, hard work, and lots of laughter. Whenever life knocked him over, he simply got up and started rebuilding. He was an example of perseverance, sacrifice, service, and grace. His sense of humor was priceless.

He is survived by his wife, Jocelyn O’Brien Erbes; daughter, Crystal (Erbes) Gower; grandson, Thomas “Tommy” Gower; sisters, Shirley (Erbes) Gehring and Judy (Erbes) Brenneman; brother-in-law, Ricky Lyons (husband to Nancy (Erbes) Lyons, deceased); step-children, Brendan O’Brien, Maureen (O’Brien) Sturgeon, Patrick O’Brien, Timothy O’Brien, Kevin O’Brien, Michael O’Brien, Danny O’Brien; and many step-grandchildren.

Viewing will be at noon Friday, January 22, and the funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m., both at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel; 1443 Long Street, Sweet Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Lewis Cemetery.
