A celebration of Theda’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel with Reverend Rick Roberts presiding. Graveside remembrances will follow at Gilliland Cemetery where she will rest in peace next to her son, Eric John Escobar (predeceased).

It is with great sadness that the family of Theda (Pappin) Escobar announces her passing after a brief illness, on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the age of 76 years.

Theda Francine Pappin (Escobar) was born on December 15, 1942 in Sweet Home, Oregon the daughter of Floyd (Osage Indian) and Beatrice (Yandall) Pappin. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood. Theda spent most of her adult life residing in Santa Cruz, California, Portland, Oregon, Vancouver, Washington, Las Vegas, Nevada, and several places throughout the Willamette Valley in Oregon.

She worked as an Operations Manager and COO with her employer and good friend, Rick Willard.

Theda’s interests included sharing her Native American (Osage) heritage/culture/tradition and beading. Spending time with family. She devoted much of her time and energy caring for family members whenever she was needed. Home decor and reading and flower gardening. She was a hard-working, fun-loving person who had a hint of mischievousness. She was particularly fond of sweet desserts, her dog, and was an avid viewer of Fox News. She will be missed for her many strong hugs, the passionate Yahtzee games, and her joy of life and family.

Theda will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Jean Roberts (Vern) and Delores Christiansen (Deryl); nieces and nephews, Kevin Pappin, Karin (Pappin) O’Brien, Katy (Pappin) James, Kimberly Pappin, Deryl Christiansen, Diane (Christiansen) Hirt, Rick Roberts, and Steven Roberts, as well as many other extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her son, Eric Escobar; brother, John Pappin; parents, Floyd (Osage Indian) and Beatrice (Yandall) Pappin.
