Shirley Ruth Erickson, 85, of Sweet Home passed away December 17, 2023. She was born on March 23, 1938 to James “Otto” and Beulah (Pippin) Mahan in Peoria, Arizona.

Jim and Shirley pastored the Church of God in Sweet Home and Lakeview. She taught Sunday School and lead bible studies. Shirley was active in the women’s auxiliary in both Sweet Home and Lakeview. After Lakeview they lived and ministered in Bend for several years. A few years after Jim passed she moved to Sweet Home to be close to her children and grandchildren. Shirley and Jim were foster parents to numerous children through the years. One of those children, her nephew, Eric Erickson and his wife Donna cared for her in their home until she passed. She was loved by many for her forthright nature. She will be greatly missed.

Shirley is survived by her sons: James, Rick, Josh of Sweet Home and Tom of Pendleton, daughter Rebecca Moore of Sweet Home. Numerous foster children, brothers: Richard, Chuck, Alvin, and sister Kay. 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband James (2010), son Rodney (2019), son Luke (2022), parents James “Otto” and Beulah, siblings: Dean, Ray, Jim, Lavern, Naomi, Pauline, Jewel and Jeana.
