Sherry L. Wright-Grant, 61, formerly of Sweet Home passed away June 25 at her home in Selah, Washington. She was born in Sweet Home to Gordon D. and Lorraine (Stark) Wright.

She grew up in Sweet Home and attended school in Holley and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1968. She was baptized in the Holley Church during her teens. After high school, she attended Oregon State University.

In 1971, she moved to Yakima, Washington. She had various jobs, including fruit picking, medical training, hop processing, and brewing.

Sherry married Bert Grant and they built Yakima Malting as well as the Brew Pub in an old railroad depot in Yakima. Sherry and Bert eventually divorced. Later, she worked in sales until an injury in 1999.

She volunteered at a clothing bank and food share. Her great joy of her life was her birds.

Sherry is survived by: her mother, Lorraine M. Wright of Sweet Home; sister, Jeanette Wright Vandiver of Camp Verde, Arizona; brother, Kris Wright, Sr., of Sweet Home; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and beloved neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Gordon D. Wright, in 1998 and brother, Gordon Bruce Wright, in 2002.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
