Ruth Lisbeth Powers, 73, of Foster passed away Monday. She was born in San Francisco, California to Champion Nicholas and Miriam Hope (Collier) Nixon.

She grew up in Moutnain View, California. She lived in Eugene, Albany, Brownsville and Lebanon.

Ruth was a longtime postal employee working as postmaster at different times for Cascadia, Foster and Crawfordsville.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading. She loved her dog Carl a great deal. She loved traveling to Alaska, Georgia and cross country driving.

Ruth is survived by her husband Greg Powers of Foster; siblings: Meredith Tatch of Valdosta, Georgia, Forrest Nixon of San Jose, California, Jackie Wheeler of Albany; many nieces and nephews that loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents Champion Nicholas Nixon in 2005 and Miriam Hope Nixon in 2003.

Private services will be held at a later date.
