Roy Bondesen, 87, of Sweet Home passed away Saturday. He was born in Lawndale, California to Albert and Lena Bondesen.

Roy served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943 to 1945.

Roy worked at Mattel Toys in California. He came to Sweet Home in 1960 from Southern California and worked at Western Kraft Paper in Millersburg until retirement in 1989.

Roy was baptized unto Christ in 1962 and was a part of the Highway 20 Church of Christ in Sweet Home at the time of his death.

He enjoyed camping, traveling, fixing things, and, in his younger years, helping people. He loved his family.

Roy is survived by: his wife, Carole Bondesen of Sweet Home; son, Gary Bondesen (and his wife, Dianna) of Sweet Home; daughter Denise Parrish of Bandon; granddaughter, Stephanie Dahlenburg (and her husband, Joshua) of Roseburg; grandson, Joshua Bondesen (and his wife, Janine) of Sweet Home; and great grandchildren, Bryce and Levi of Roseburg and Kyler of Sweet Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one granddaughter.

At Roy’s request, no services are planned.
