Ronald Mead, 82, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Wednesday, May 25. He was born in Eugene to Herbert James and Elizabeth Sue (Hodges) Mead.

Ron served in the United States Navy for four years, 1951 to 1955, and served on the USS Bryce Canyon in Japan.

He worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator in the logging industry.

Ron is survived by his children, Karen Cromwell (Monte), Peggy Sue Thompson (Marty), Barbara Westerkamp (Mark), Paula Carrigan (Brandon), Randy Mead (Pam); and many grandchildren.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date this summer.
