Rodney (Rod) Henderson, 64, of Sweet Home passed away Monday, June 13, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lebanon to Harley and Myrtle Henderson (Haney).
He graduated from Central Linn High School in 1964. He was raised in Brownsville.
Rod married Gina Grant in July 1974 in Springfield. They separated in 1993.
During his farming career, Rodney worked for Gene Fisher, Peter Jensen, and Wes Staley. He retired on December 31, 2010 to spend more time with his grandchildren — going to rodeos and car races.
Rod loved to attend rodeos, attend his grandchildren’s games, go for drives, and camping, and he loved to watch his western movies. He enjoyed riding his four wheeler wherever he felt he could. If he wasn’t doing that, he would read the newspaper that was in front of him.
Rod is survived by: his children, Cascindra Henderson (and fiancé, Logan Fetters) of Creswell and Matthew (and wife, Suzanne Henderson) of Springfield; siblings, Cindy Reynolds (and husband, Joe) of Brownsville, Cathy Ader (and husband, Dave) of Brownsville, Stuart Henderson of Albany, Krystal Henderson (and partner, Nancy Aguirre) of Tucson, Arizona, and Scott Henderson of Brownsville; and five grandchildren that he adored, James, Seth, Kyra, Emmye, and Lillian; as well as many friends.
Rod was preceded in death by: his brother, Gary Henderson (1993); father, Harley Henderson (1999); and mother, Myrtle Haney (2010).
