Robert William Leever
December 29, 1967 – October 1, 2023

Robert William Leever, 55, of Lebanon passed away, October 1, 2023. He was born December 29, 1967 to George Robert and Barbara Ann (Huzil) Leever in Yokosuka, Japan.

Robert graduated from The Auburndale School in Cordova, Tenn., where he played baseball, football and acted in school plays. He attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where he received Bachelor’s degrees in English and Psychology. Robert then became a missionary with YWAM (Youth With A Mission), where he met and served with Heather Darwood and did mission trips to Russia and Brazil. They married in 1993, and raised three children in Oregon. He worked in education and in the lumber industry, eventually working at Arauco in Albany. He was also a skilled writer, often working with his best friend John Jackson Miller. He wrote for lumber magazines and the Comics Retailer Magazine in 1994. Robert and his family attended Sweet Home Community Chapel.

Robert enjoyed writing and was a history buff. He loved reading stories aloud to his kids, and reading comics, especially Calvin and Hobbes. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, hiking to waterfalls and picking wild blackberries with his family. Christmas was his favorite time of the year.

He is survived by his wife, Heather Leever; children, Madalyn and her husband Caleb Scheidemantle, Jonathan Leever and Andrew Leever; mother, Barbara Leever; and sister, Leigh Ann Bland. He was preceded in death by father, George Leever, who received the Distinguished Flying Cross during the Vietnam War.
