Robert Roy Combs, also known as “Basic Bob,” 61, of Sweet Home, beloved husband of Lorri Combs, passed away suddenly in his home on Thursday.

He was born in Oakland, California to Robert and Joanne (Greathouse) Combs and graduated from high school in Concord, California.

Bob was a man of many talents, demonstrating this in his professions. He was a truck driver and an iron worker, and a restorer of classic cars and many homes in this area. A few of Bob’s favorite things were gold panning, watching “Gold Fever” every Saturday, coaching track, encouraging young people to do their best, and spending quality time with his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by: his wife, Lorri; children, Tammy, Travis, and Tyrell Combs, Melissa Putney, Candice Plett, and Nathan and Ethan Rowe; and 16 beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Bobby.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, at Holley Church.
