Richard Dale Oelrich
April 9, 1944 – January 20, 2024
 
Richard Dale Oelrich, 79, of Sweet Home went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2024. He was born April 9, 1944 of loving  parents Christie and Milli (Zubke) Oelrich in Bemidji, Minnesota.

He moved from Minnesota to Oregon in 1965, living in Eugene, Seattle, Albany, Lebanon/Berlin area before settling in Sweet Home.

Richard was known for his love for the Lord and was dedicated to his family and friends whom he loved dearly. He was a very hard worker taking pride in his work. Richard loved being outdoors, riding his dirt bike and building things. 

Rich was a machinist and millwright most of his life, working at Boeing in Seattle, El-Jay in Eugene, Northwest Industries, Wah Chang and Oremet in Albany.
  
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Oelrich, three children; Sharon Kelley of North Carolina, Sheri Ramsay of Oregon, and Jared Huenergardt of Oregon, brothers; Harvey and Rod Oelrich of Oregon and sister Cindy Coffin of Texas, grandchildren; Rachel, Jaxon, Ryker, and many nieces and nephews, he loved them all.
 
Rich will be remembered for his love for Jesus and his love for writing Bible scripture. He was loving, caring with a gentle manner and quiet sense of humor.  He was very creative with all he put his hands to, and shared his God given talent with family and friends.
 
Richard touched many lives around him. We love you and you will be greatly missed.   

There will be a open house gathering to celebrate Rich’s life from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm on February 11, 2024 at their home. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com
