Rebecca “Becky” Anne Parker, 91, a longtime resident of Albany, Oregon, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was born in San Francisco, California, at the Presidio.

She was a talented homemaker and was known for her volunteer work in Albany at the Visitor’s Center and the Downtown Carnegie Library. She was also known for her prize-winning counted cross stitch artwork at the Linn County Fair.

Becky and her husband, Jack Parker, had a Christmas tree farm on Christmas Tree Lane, where she made holiday wreaths. She had a great sense of humor, was a superb cookie maker, and her tuna fish sandwiches were out of this world.

Angels protected her during her life, and now they’ve taken her home. She will be missed.

Becky is survived by her two children: Gail and Roger Hayes; younger brother, John Brandt; granddaughter, Jamuna Chiarini; great grandson, Alex; best friend, Myrna Duce; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Parker; sister, Virginia Buchtenkirch; and brothers: Jackson Brandt III and Rodney Brandt.

At her request, no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a project that was very close to her heart.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
