Ramona Jewell Lake, 81, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born in PIne Valley, Oklahoma to Lendle Carl and Ida May (Pugh) Story.
She lived in Sprague River, Oregon from 1941 to 1948, and then moved to Lakeview. She moved to Sweet Home in 2005.
Ramona married Robbie G. Lake on December 26, 1950. She was baptized March 24, 2002 at Christian Life Center Church of God by Reverend Wayne Breshears.
Her greatest joy was her family and she especially loved to cook and bake for them at holidays and other gatherings. She enjoyed spring and summer the most, spending her time outside tending to her flowers and garden. It was at the age of 70 when she acknowledged the Lord Jesus as her Redeemer and Savior, publicly professing her faith in the small rural congregation of the Christian Life Center Church of God in Lakeview, Oregon. She loved to serve, worship, and be among her fellow believers there, faithfully trusting in the blessed gospel of life eternal.
Ramona is survived by: daughter Gwen and her husband Mike Lindsey; son William “Ron” and his wife Lois Lake (all of Sweet Home); grandsons Levi and his family Jennifer, Alexa, and Ryan Lindsey of Albany, Gabe and his family Amanda and Gage Lindsey of Prineville; granddaughters Allison and her family Ryan, Ava, and Quinn Padua, Courtney Lake and her son Tanner Richards, Olivia and her husband Zac Cochran (all of Sweet Home); sisters Charlene Carnini of Weed, California, Lenda Cossey of Independence; brother Ted and his wife Melinda Story of Deming, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robbie Lake, in 2013 and her brother, Bud Story, in 1996.
