Ralph Patrick Medeiros, 83, of Albany, Oregon passed away Tuesday, May 15. He was born in Hawaii to Ralph Manuel and Hagei Dora (Suzuki) Medeiros.
Ralph was raised in Hawaii. At seventeen, he joined the Navy, then transferred to the Coast Guard Search and Rescue. Lived in New York for thirteen years while in the military. He was a diesel mechanic on ships and became a Master Chief before he retired in 1977. He and his family settled in Fresno, California for 25 years before moving to Albany for the last five years.
After retiring from the Coast Guard, he was a diesel mechanic and a bus driver for the City of Fresno. He was a Shriner and a Mason. Ralph was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints four years ago.
He enjoyed fishing and assembling model airplanes and ships. He loved the ocean and Hawaiian and classical music.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Susan Medeiros, of Albany; children Darrel, Duane, Marcus, Yvette, Yvonne, Pamela, Marnie, and Dawn; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his dog, Winston.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet; second wife Patricia; and sisters Dorothy and Helena.
