Peter Jason Huss, 48, of Corvallis, Oregon passed away Saturday, September 12. He was born in Ferndale, Michigan to John B. and Sharon (Page) Huss.

He served in the United States Army 11B Infantry from 1990 to 1992. He was a graduate of United States Airborne School. Peter was a member of 10th Mountain Rapid Reaction Force, Fort Drum, NY and 2nd Infantry, Old Guard, Washington, DC.

Peter was raised in Grayling, Michigan and attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette before transferring to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree. He lived in Big Rapids, Michigan and Eugene, Brownsville, and Corvallis, Oregon.

He loved hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, surfing, and camping.

Peter is survived by: his wife, Nguyen Thi KimDung of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; children Jason Huss, Rachel Huss, and Ryan Huss of Brownsville, and Nguyen Toung Van (Mimi) of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; parents John and Sharon Huss of Lovells, Michigan; brother John Andrew Huss (Susie Jacoby) of Little Rock, Arkansas; sisters Julie Huss (John Koleszar) of Jackson, Michigan and Susan Huss (Mike Baxter) of Tallahassee, Florida; nephews Jordan (Jake) Koli, Johnny Baxter, Brewer Koleszar, Noah Baxter, and Denver Baxter; aunt and uncle Warren and Mary Huss; and cousins Janet (Greg Nelson) of Tacoma, Washington and Steven Huss (Marcie Huss) of Portland.

He was preceded in death by daughter Caroline Huss of Brownsville.
