The youngest of five children of Josie Lee and Louis Kloyce Gwinn, Peggy lived in Electra for a brief time before moving to Phoenix, Arizona as an infant. She and her four siblings were later raised by her single mother in a happy Christian home. What lacked in material things was made up with love from her family including aunts, uncles and cousins. Peggy delighted in roller-skating from one side of Phoenix to the other as a child and loved singing to family and complete strangers from her doorstep. She regularly attended the Church of Christ with her family and continued to do so into her early adulthood.
Peggy married Donald E. Forum at a young age in Phoenix and had three children – Don Forum, Jr., John Forum (wife – Connie) and Jan Acorn. She later remarried Dr. Frederic D. Baier and had two more children – John Baier (wife – Juanita) and Libby Beckwith (husband – Bruce) then moved to Sweet Home, Oregon in 1964.She worked in her husband’s medical practice for many years and later continued her medical training so she could provide private duty nursing and teach nursing courses. Peggy even cared for two of her siblings during their illnesses before they passed. During this time, she lived in California, Texas and Arizona again before returning to Oregon in 2006.In addition to her beautiful singing voice, Peggy had a talent for cooking, painting and writing poems and jingles. She loved animals of all kinds and was an avid reader.
