Peggy Irene Shroyer, 77, of Philomath, Oregon died Wednesday, May 9. Peggy, the youngest child of Theopolis O. and Josephine A. (Embry) Pointer, was born in Toppenish, WA.

When she was a child, her family moved to Summit, OR, and then, later, to Philomath. She graduated from Philomath High in 1958, where she met her husband of 59 years, Jim Shroyer.

Peggy enjoyed dancing, gardening, camping with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Jim; children Symone and Scott of Philomath, Tara and her husband, Ben, of Albany; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Oliver and Charlie; and sister Roberta.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, at College United Methodist Church in Philomath. A private, family graveside will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Philomath. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages that donations in Peggy’s name be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
