Paul James Baker, Jr., 79, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Monday, September 11. He was born in Eugene to Paul James, Sr., and Elsie Bertha (Lucier) Baker.

He was raised in the Springfield/ Eugene area. He moved to Salem with his mom in the 1950s. In 1998, he moved in with his sister, Barbara, in Lebanon. In 2010, he moved to a care home in Sweet Home.

Paul was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was baptized in Lebanon in 2008. He was an avid Duck fan and loved watching football and baseball.

Paul is survived by his siblings: Barbara and her husband, Dan Whipple, of Lebanon, Thomas and his wife, Sally Baker, of Central Point, Sharon Miller of Southern California, Danny and his wife, Sandy Murphy, of Stayton, Terry “Duffy” and his wife, Hannah Baker, of Gladstone, and Donald Baker of Salem.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Stephen Murphy and Johnny Baker.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lebanon.
