Patrick “Pat” Clinton McCollum, 75, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He was born in Albany to Raymond Eugene “Mac” and Janette (Herbert) McCollum.

Pat was raised in Sweet Home and attended schools in the community, graduating at Sweet Home Union High School in 1957. He met Ival Parker as a child. They were married in 1960, started their family and remained in Sweet Home.

Pat was the owner of McCollum Logging from 1978 to 2014. He retired earlier this year after running his logging business for 36 years.

He was a life long rock hound beginning around the age of 10. Pat enjoyed being outdoors anywhere, or anytime, and loved hunting and camping. He just went hunting this last fall, killing a six-point bull. Pat loved spending time with his family, recently welcoming in his first great granddaughter.

Pat is survived by: his wife, Ival; son, Clinton Ray McCollum and wife Dyann of Sweet Home; daughter, Teresa Elaine McCollum of Prescott, Arizona; brothers, Jim McCollum and wife Betty of Lacomb and Jerry McCollum and wife Bonnie of Sweet Home; mother, Janette McCollum of Sweet Home; grandsons, Jacob and Kyle; great granddaughter Addison; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Eugene “Mac” McCollum (1981).

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Reception will follow. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., at Gilliland Cemetery.
