Patrick Dennis Whitney, 62, of Sweet Home passed away at home Friday from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. He was born in Lebanon to Pleasant Merrill, Jr., and Lorene (Clester) Whitney.

Patrick loved the outdoors and his happiest times were spent hunting, fishing, or just roaming the woods near his home in the company of his best friends, Keisha and Tess — his dogs.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kate and Sarah Whitney, of Portland; sisters Merrill (Frank) Gallagher of Sweet Home and Bunni (Gene) Lynn of Falls City; brothers Michael (Kathleen) Whitney of Eugene and Lonnie (Shawn) Clester of Portland.

Patrick was preceded in death by: his parents; his stepfather, Charles Clester; and his beloved dogs, Keisha and Tess.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in Patrick’s name to the Oregon Humane Society.
