Patricia Ann Mealue, age 71, passed away peacefully in her home October 22, 2009. She was born on May 21, 1938, in Colville, Washington to Oscar and June (Birdsall) Peasley. She was the youngest of eight children.

She married Wayne Thomas Mealue on September 20, 1957 in Coeur d’alene, Idaho, and they made their home in Sweet Home, Oregon and raised their four children.

A member of Sweet Home Assembly of God for 47 years, Patricia’s strong faith was the foundation of her life. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, taking road trips with her husband, cooking, and visiting the Oregon Coast. Her grandchildren brought her great joy, and she treasured her time with them.

Patricia attended Linn Benton Community College and worked various jobs in addition to being a dedicated wife and mother. Her secretarial skills were utilized at Linn Benton Community College, the Lumber-Sawmill Union, and Sweet Home Assembly of God Church. She was also employed by the Sweet Home School District where her love for cooking was put into use as a baker.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Wayne Thomas Mealue, of Sweet Home; sisters, Carol Martinez of Spokane, Washington, and Betty Paullus of Coeur d’alene, Idaho; brothers, Don Peasley of Coeur d’alene, Idaho and Fred Peasley of Phoenix, Arizona; sons, Ben (Christina) Mealue of Salem, Oregon and Marty (Rima) Mealue of Sweet Home; daughters, Debbie Mealue of Richmond, Virginia and Sue (Dan) Helland of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Jessica (Josh) Edmiston of Salem, Oregon, Ben Mealue of Salem, Oregon, Alyssa Mealue of Sweet Home, Austin Mealue of Sweet Home, Lauren Helland of Richmond, Virginia, and Lexee Helland of Richmond, Virginia; and three great grandchildren, Sydney Edmiston of Salem, Annie Edmiston of Salem, and one due in June.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and June Peasley, and brothers, Ted Peasley, Bud Peasley, and Gary Peasley.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Sweet Home Assembly of God, 890 Mountain View Road, Sweet Home, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, 1046 Sixth Avenue SW, Albany, OR 97321 in memory of Patricia Mealue.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling services.
