Pat Baxter, 79, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016. She was born in Hatfield, Arkansas to Earnest and Opal (Yarbrough) Miller.

When Pat was three,her family moved from Arkansas to Idanha. They then moved to Sweet Home when she was six, and she lived in Sweet Home for 73 years. In later years, they spent their winters in SanTan Valley, Arizona.

Pat graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, Ernie Baxter, on October 3, 1957.

She enjoyed Pinochle, wrestling, class reunions, shopping, and yard work. Pat loved her family.

Pat is survived by her husband, Ernie Baxter, of Sweet Home; children Kandi Miller of Independence, Sonya and her husband, Terry McFarland, Shim and his wife, Shauna Baxter, Mike and his wife, Aileen Baxter, all of Sweet Home; two grandchildren raised by Pat, Kori Watson and Sonny Baxter, both of Sweet Home; brother Burlon Miller of Sweet Home; sister Babe Muller of Albany; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sister Ernestine; brother Darrell; and grandson Cody McFarland in 2002.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 6, at Sweet Home Mennonite Church. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in Pat’s name to the Sweet Home Alumni Scholarship.
