The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweet Home. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Sunset Cemetery in Portland. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Myra June Grow, age 85, of Sweet Home passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007. She was born in Roseburg, Oregon to Hugh William and Annie Izola (Christensen) Goodding.

Myra married Charles Franklin Grow January 1, 1942 in Portland, Oregon. They moved from Clackamas, Oregon to Sweet Home in 1993. She went to college and beautician school. She worked as a school bus driver in Chiloquin, Oregon and as a head cook for the schools, and supported the war efforts by being a seamstress during WWII and also a buyer for a store. She spent five years working with her husband at the Imnaha River salmon fish trap for the Oregon Fish and Wildlife.

She loved cooking for family gatherings and making hundreds of quilts for family and friends. She knew no strangers and brought warmth and comfort and often a good laugh to those who had the privilege to meet her. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very active in her church. She served three missions and worked closely with the Klamath and Modoc Indian tribes. She was a past Relief Society President and served in many other church callings.

Myra is survived by her husband, Charles Grow, and children, Raymond and Becky Grow of South Jordan, Utah, Cheryl and Rod Bricco of Sweet Home, Laurie DeBortoli of Chiloquin; many foster children; grandchildren, Vala, Aaron, Candy, Chris, Levi, Jennifer, and Kassy; and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother, and her son, Roger Grow.
