Milton Edward Partridge, age 82, of Albany passed away Monday. He was born in Olney Springs, Colorado to Edward and Wilma (Clark) Partridge.

Milton and his family moved around Colorado and California from 1927 to 1944. He graduated from Molalla Oregon High School in 1944. He served in the Navy in the Philippines during WW2 and the Korean War.

He married Genevieve Shilts in 1948. Their only child, Karon, was born in 1949. They later took in Lissea and Mary Logue as foster daughters. They lived in Scotts Mills and Sweet Home while MIlton worked for lumber companies.

They moved to Salem in 1968, and Milton went to work for the Oregon Correctional Institution. He retired in 1986. They moved to Idaho and then back to Oregon settling in the Irrigon/Hermiston area in 1991. In 2006, they moved to Albany, Oregon’s Cambridge Terrace Assisted Living Community.

Milton loved hunting, fishing, and recreational mining.

He is survived by brothers, Howard of Omaha, Nebraska, Harold and Edward of Sweet Home, and Stanley of Crabtree; sister, Janice of Bend; grandson, Sean McCallister of Lake View; granddaughter, Dawn Pfau of O’Fallon, Illinois; foster daughter, Lissea Clapp of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Justin and Erica McCallister of Lakeview and Kelsi Pfau of O’Fallon, Illinois; foster grandchildren, Jackie Clark and Edwin Clapp of Tennessee.

Milton was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Genevieve, in July 2009; daughter, Karon McCracken, in 2007; parents, Edward and Wilma Partridge; brothers, Gene, Donald, and Kenneth; and sister, Emma Lou.

Viewing will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 14, also at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, at Miller Cemetery in Silverton, Oregon.
