Marilyn “Dee” Sullens passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2014.
Dee was born in McMinnville, OR to Stan and Donna C. (Ashton) Ego and raised in the Greater Sweet Home Metropolitan Area. She was a graduate of the educational institution therein.
Once married to Greg Sullens, they raised their children on Dee’s family farm.
She was an active volunteer in the community as well as highly involved in her children’s endeavors. After her children left for college, Dee resettled to Eugene, where she continued to pursue life’s adventures. When she wasn’t busy working in the medical field, she was tirelessly engaged in many social groups, including Altair Ski & Sports Club and a large ballroom dance community.
Upon her retirement in 2011, Dee filled her time balancing her passion for her grandchildren and her love of dance. An accomplished dancer, she was a committed participant at dance gatherings wherever they could be found.
Dee is survived by her loving children, Ali Gardner and Kyle Sullens, as well as her five adoring grandchildren Gavin, Amelia, Grace, Olivia, and baby Sophia, who will each grow to be as talented, spirited and adventurous as their grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were, in her words, “The love and joy of my life.” She is also missed by her mother, Donna Ego, as well as by her four brothers Joe, Dave, Greg, and her best friend Rodger.
