Mabel Ruth (Randall) Sisemore, 94, of Sweet Home and Davis, California, passed away peacefully, on February 6, 2022 in Davis, California surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Mabel was born on February 15, 1927 in Whittier, California to Carl Fletcher and Thelma Lee (Oyler) Randall. She was the oldest of four children, with three younger brothers who she cherished and adored their whole lives.

She graduated from Avenal High School in 1945. She worked at the local movie theater, and as a result, her parents and brothers where able to watch movies there for free. Mabel moved with her family to Sweet Home in 1947, where she obtained a job at the bank and then for a Sweet Home Accountant, where she would meet the love of her life, Millard Sisemore. Mabel often shared the story of meeting Millard and said that she checked his marital status on his payroll forms to see if he was single. After meeting Mabel, Millard shared that he left her office and told his friends that he just met the woman he was going to marry. Six months later, on December 12, 1947, Millard and Mabel married at her parents’ home in Foster, Oregon.

Mabel and Millard had two daughters: Marsha Kay (born in 1950), and Marlene Fay (born in 1958). Their family would continue to grow, and they were blessed with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mabel was excited to hear that her first great, great-grandchild is due in May 2022.

She joined the First Baptist Church in Sweet Home, Oregon in 1955 and held many positions in the church (Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Bible study leader, and Kitchen staff). She and Millard volunteered with the Northwest Church Builder Association to help build the current church in Sweet Home as well as numerous other churches in Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and Washington. Mabel also volunteered for the school lunch program at Liberty Elementary School.

She belonged to a Sweet Home Women’s bowling league for many years. She taught English to a Cambodian refugee family in 1974 and was a host mother to an AFS student from France in 1975-76 and a Youth for Understanding student from Finland in 1973-74. Mabel loved to garden and especially enjoyed planting petunias, nasturtiums, dahlias and hanging fuchsias. She left the vegetables to Millard.
Mabel moved to Davis, California in 2007 where she learned how to make beautiful jewelry and hand-made cards. She formed a walking group with her neighbors and attended exercise classes at the Davis Senior Center. She also loved to read, work crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and regular puzzles- always starting with the boarders!

Mabel is survived by her daughters: Marsha (Sisemore) Dlouhy of Stayton, Dr. Marlene Sisemore Cortopassi of Davis, California and husband Dr. Gino Cortopassi; five grandchildren: Melissa (Dlouhy) McNabb, Rodney Dlouhy Jr. and his wife Evie, Donelle (Dlouhy) Chen and her husband Steve, Sofia Cortopassi and her husband Jason Inzana, Julia Cortopassi and partner Goksu Bicer; five great-grandchildren: Daniel McNabb and his wife Emilly, Sarah McNabb, Samantha Dlouhy, Gabrielle Chen, and Rodney Dlouhy III “Buddy”.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Millard Sisemore (2003); father Carl Randall (1966); mother Thelma (Oyler) Randall (1986); brothers: Clifford Randall (1977), James “Jimmy” Randall (1998), Lester Randall (2005); and son-in-law, Rodney Dlouhy Sr. (2018).
