Louise Nivison, age 93, passed away on June 17, 2022 at her home in Foster, Oregon. She was born to Stephen and Mary Holcomb on September 18, 1928 at home on the farm in Woodinville, Washington.

She went on to graduate with honors from Bothell High School in 1947, also in that year marrying Vernon Nivison and moving to the Sweet Home area. While they were building their house along the river near Cascadia, they lived in the old one-room schoolhouse that had previously been Cascadia School.


Louise was a loving wife and mother, a wise counselor, talented artist, skilled seamstress, and exceptional gardener, as well as knowing the answer to whatever question you might ask. A friend said recently that if you stuck a shovel in the ground and Louise watered it—it would grow. Most of all, the Lord Jesus was an integral part of her life.
 
She is survived by her four children: Mary Burton of Lebanon, John Nivison of Middleton, Idaho, Leon Nivison of Cascadia, and Marcia Watkins of Eugene; younger brother Harry Michael Holcomb; and in addition 38 grandchildren (including great and great-great grandchildren).
 
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon in 2009; brother Edward Holcomb in 1997; brother John Holcomb in 2008; and sister Myrtle Holcomb in 2011.


A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am Saturday August 6th at Highway 20 Church of Christ in Sweet Home.
