Viewing will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday, October 7, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 8, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
Lois Nora Carr, 87, of Sweet Home passed away Monday. She was born in Montesano, Washington to Ray Lewis and Ethel Eva (Mann) Freeman.
She lived in Washington as a youth. Lois moved around in her 20s and 30s. She started her family in Washington and eventually settled in Sweet Home in 1963. She lived in the same house they bought many years ago.
Lois helped build airplanes during WWII. She raised her family with pride. Later in life, she volunteered at the Sweet Home Gleaners.
She loved canning, baking, quilting, and especially being a grandma.
Lois is survived by: children, Roy Lee Carpenter, Robert Lewis Carpenter, James Daniel Carpenter, Sally Joan Carpenter, Paul Edward Carr, and Tim Allan Carr; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Paul A. Carr in 1998; brothers, George Freeman, Bob Beers, Ray Freeman, and Jerry Freeman; and two sisters.
Viewing will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday, October 7, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
