Lois Louise (Main) Ward, age 73, of Sweet Home died December 19, 2008 at her home. She was born on July 4, 1935 in Shelbyville, Illinois; the daughter of Alford and Louise (Kahlhammer) Main.

She was raised and attended school in Fruitland and Payette, Idaho. She came to Oregon in 1964.

Lois married Paul R. Ward on August 6, 1989. They came to Sweet Home in 2005. Paul preceded her in death on May 6, 2008.

Lois owned and was a cook for two different restaurants during her life.

Lois is survived by son, Edward Cantrell of Turner, OR; grandchildren, Joshua Cantrell, Jennifer Hammer, and Jacob Cantrell; brothers, Avery Main, John L. Main, and Lyal M. Main; uncle, Chester Main; step-daughters, Paula Robinson and Betty Thomas; step-son, Richard Ward; step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, and a step-daughter, Mary LaBlue.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling services.
