Leola Varian Burnett, 92, a long-time resident of Sweet Home, passed away on Monday in Lebanon. She was born in Elmira to Dalton and Mable (Curtis) Jeans. She lived in the Eugene area until moving to and settling in Sweet Home in 1951.

She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Lebanon and Sweet Home Christian Church. Leola enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and the outdoors. She loved trips to the coast and drives in the mountains.

Leola is survived by: daughters, Alice Faye and husband Bernt Nicklasson of Sweet Home, and Judy and husband Leo Kier of Lebanon; son Glen G. Burnett of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Michael and wife Amanda Burnett of Cut Bank, Montana, Richard and wife Laura Kier of Chattaroy, Washington, Kevin and wife Emma Kier of Sweet Home, and Angela and husband Greg Bean of Philomath; four great grandchildren; nieces Helen Bowman of Eugene, and Kathryn Hopson of Creswell; and cousin Dorothy Cole of Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glen F. Burnett (April 15, 1994) and sister Zaida Allen.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, at Southside Church of Christ in Lebanon. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
