Leida Mary Dewey, 88, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Monday, May 14. She was born in Okahoma City, Oklahoma to Ross Walter and Mina Marie (McDaniel) Williams.

She married Harlin Lovely in 1949. They later divorced. She married Clifford Dewey in 1967.

Leida lived in New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Washington, and Idaho before settling in Sweet Home in 1946.

Leida worked at Safeway for 26 years until she retired in 1990. She has been a member of 18th and Long Christian Church since 1956.

She collected state plates from all 50 states.

Leida is survived by son Terry Guy Lovely (Janice Albert) of Sweet Home; daughters Pamela Sue Hawkins (Bill Hawkins) of Ft. Worth, Texas; step-daughter Patty Stafford Parks of Stayton; sisters Sarah Johnson and Leota Harrison of Lebanon and Vivian Meacham of Nampa, Idaho; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; sister Rosa Lou Wilkerson; and brothers Ross Williams and Lonnie Williams.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, at Sweet Home Christian Church. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to 18th and Long Christian Church to be used for Camp Koinonia scholarships.
