Lavona Howe, 88, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away in Eugene Friday, August 18. She was born in Hillsboro to Richard and Myrtle Bell (Bowswer) Hobin.

Lavona came to Sweet Home in 1953. She owned a shoe store in Sweet Home and worked at White’s Electronics. She enjoyed golf.

Lavona is survived by her daughter, Cheri Johnson, of Eugene; sons Brian Howe of Sweet Home and Lindsay Howe of Portland; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Lavona was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Howe; son Jeffrey Howe; and daughter Leslie Bate.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
